Collars, Etc. Pattern Company started in 1995 with a few collar patterns. Over the years the company has grown and expanded, adding more patterns to create a diverse line of classic sewing patterns for children.

Owner Trudy Horne has been designing and sewing children’s clothing for over three decades.  Her experience with every aspect of children’s wear - designing, pattern drafting, handwork and construction – is seen in each pattern.  As an illustrator with a degree in art, she has incorporated detailed drawings into Collars, Etc. patterns, a feature appreciated by novices and seasoned sewers alike.

Since its inception in 1984, Trudy has worked for Creative Needle Magazine in a variety of capacities.  Her “Basic Guide” series for Creative Needle, which began in 1994, is the longest-running series of its kind in the sewing industry. Her subjects range from delicate handwork, smocking and embroidery to basic construction and pattern alterations.

Trudy’s signature style and voluminous body of work have earned her worldwide recognition as a designer, stitcher and writer.
