Trudy Horne yoke embroidery

 

 

Asymmetrical embroidery consisting of padded satin stitch, outline stitch and eyelets, is worked on yoke of a linen cambric dress. Ribbon is woven through buttonholes and tied in a bow at one side.

 

This garment was featured in the May/June 1987 and March/April 1999 issues of Creative Needle Magazine. A yellow and white piqué version of this dress appeared in the  Jan/Feb 2003 issue of Creative Needle as well.

Trudy Horne's embroidered wreath

Left:  This beautiful embroidered wreath from Collar Package #2 is featured in the September 2007 issue of Creative Needle Magazine.  Although the color scheme is suitable for holiday attire, it can also be used for spring by replacing the red and white gingham check dress (featured in the article) with:

-Green check or solid to match DMC floss #3052

-Blue check or solid to match DMC floss #827 

-Yellow check or solid to match DMC floss #744

-White dress with a satin sash to match one of the colors in the embroidery
